For many of us, Ben 10 was one of the shows that defined childhood.
Bijon Projects' latest capsule, TENNYSON, reimagines two of Ben Tennyson's most recognisable outfits: the classic white and black shirt from the original series and the green jacket from Alien Force.
Rather than recreating the costumes exactly, the idea was to imagine what Ben's clothes might look like after years of transformations, alien fights and adventures.
The result is a two piece Ben 10 inspired clothing collection built around nostalgia, ageing and wear.
REIMAGINING BEN TENNYSON'S ICONIC OUTFITS
Ben's wardrobe changed as he grew older, but two looks have remained especially recognisable.
The white shirt with its black centre stripe represents the original series.
The green jacket represents the older Ben we meet in Alien Force.
TENNYSON brings both eras together through the Tennyson Signature Canvas Jacket and Tennyson Classic Tee.
The goal was to retain enough of the original visual identity to immediately feel familiar while translating both pieces through Bijon's own design language.
THE TENNYSON SIGNATURE CANVAS JACKET
The Tennyson Signature Canvas Jacket takes inspiration from Ben's green Alien Force jacket.
Instead of recreating it directly, Bijon rebuilt the idea as a heavier washed canvas jacket designed to look as though it has already lived through years of wear.
The green canvas is pigment sprayed for an uneven, aged finish, while the familiar white detailing, sleeve stripes and 10 graphic preserve the connection to Ben Tennyson.
Additional details include hidden front pockets, distressed finishing, a custom zipper puller and a genuine leather back tag.
As the jacket is worn and washed, its colours are intended to continue fading and blending, adding to the battle worn appearance.
It is clearly a Ben 10 inspired jacket, but the intention was for it to work as a statement canvas jacket even without knowing the reference.
THE TENNYSON CLASSIC TEE
The Tennyson Classic Tee reinterprets Ben's original white and black shirt.
The recognisable centre stripe remains, but instead of a clean graphic, it has been distressed and worn down to make the shirt feel aged.
The tee is lightweight, breathable and deliberately simple.
Because the original design is already so recognisable, the challenge was not adding more detail. It was finding a way to age and reinterpret the shirt while preserving what made it iconic in the first place.
NOSTALGIA, REINTERPRETED
TENNYSON follows the same idea that sits behind many Bijon collections.
The fictional world is the starting point, not the final garment.
For this collection, that meant taking two familiar pieces of Ben 10 fashion and asking what they might look like if they had actually belonged to Ben.
Worn.
Faded.
Battle damaged.
Passed down years later.
The references are obvious enough for someone who grew up watching the series to recognise, but the garments are designed to exist independently of them.
