ABOUT BIJON PROJECTS
Bijon Projects is an independent Singapore clothing brand creating garments inspired by fictional worlds.
The brand began as a creative passion project and an experiment. I wanted to combine my love for fictional worlds and fashion while challenging myself to learn something completely new.
What started as a personal creative outlet gradually developed into a platform for exploring how fictional influences can be reinterpreted through clothing.
REINTEPRETING FICTIONAL WORLDS
Every Bijon collection begins with an element worth exploring.
Sometimes the starting point is a character, philosophy, environment or moment from a fictional world. Other times, it is a visual element such as a colour palette, silhouette, uniform, texture or distinctive design detail.
We take these influences and reinterpret them through our own perspective.
A character’s values may shape the concept behind a garment, while their appearance may inspire its colours, panel lines or construction. An environment may influence the fabric and texture, while smaller details can become references recognised by those familiar with the source.
This allows us to create anime/comics/movies/video game inspired clothing and fictional world inspired fashion in a way that feels considered, tactful and wearable.
The goal is not to recreate costumes or rely only on obvious graphics. It is to create garments that can stand on their own while retaining a connection to the worlds that inspired them.
CONSTANTLY EXPLORING
Bijon Projects is built around exploration and experimentation.
Every collection is an opportunity to learn something new. This could mean working with a different material, developing a new silhouette, experimenting with embroidery and knit structures or finding a more thoughtful way to reinterpret a familiar visual reference.
The process is rarely straightforward.
Ideas change through sketching, sampling, fittings and production. Some details evolve while others are removed entirely. Each revision brings the garment closer to its intended direction while leaving room for unexpected ideas to emerge.
We create for people who appreciate thoughtful design, considered references and garments with something deeper behind them.
The reference does not always need to be obvious.
Sometimes it is enough to simply know it is there.
